# Victor Elexpe

> I build data, cloud, and AI systems designed to still make sense once the hype fades. Victor Elexpe is an AI Platform Architect based in Madrid, founder of Almanzor Cloud, who writes about how technology shapes the people who use it.

I work where data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and AI meet — mostly on the part that has to keep working long after the launch.

Most of my time goes to data engineering. I also make music, and occasionally drive a sim rig.

I'm also studying Philosophy at UNED, which is where most of my writing comes from: how these systems shape the people who end up using them.

## What I do

- **Data platforms**: Pipelines, models, and governance that teams can trust today and still understand a year from now.
- **Cloud architecture**: Infrastructure on Google Cloud that is boring in the best way: observable, cost-aware, and easy to change.
- **AI in production**: Taking AI from a promising demo to something people rely on every day, with evaluation, guardrails, and a clear owner.
- Sectors: Telecom (Telefónica), Media & advertising (Havas), Insurance (Ocaso), Academia (UPM)

## Notes

- [The hidden politics of convenience](https://elexpe.dev/notes/the-hidden-politics-of-convenience) (2026-10-18): Convenience often arrives as a neutral improvement, but it quietly changes who has agency and who becomes optimized.
- [When speed becomes culture](https://elexpe.dev/notes/when-speed-becomes-culture) (2026-10-05): Faster output does not only change productivity. It changes expectations, pressure, and the meaning of good work.
- [Trust after infinite content](https://elexpe.dev/notes/trust-after-infinite-content) (2026-09-21): When content becomes cheap, trust becomes the scarce material.
- [The right to remain human-scale](https://elexpe.dev/notes/the-right-to-remain-human-scale) (2026-09-08): Some parts of life should resist acceleration because their value depends on time, ambiguity, and presence.
- [Who gets the leverage](https://elexpe.dev/notes/who-gets-the-leverage) (2026-08-24): AI impact depends on ownership, incentives, and power, not only capability.
- [The age of plausible answers](https://elexpe.dev/notes/the-age-of-plausible-answers) (2026-08-11): Plausibility can replace understanding if people stop checking the difference.
- [Attention as public infrastructure](https://elexpe.dev/notes/attention-as-public-infrastructure) (2026-07-27): Attention is not just a personal productivity problem. It is shaped by the systems we live inside.
- [Software maintenance as ethics](https://elexpe.dev/notes/software-maintenance-as-ethics) (2026-07-13): Maintainable systems are a form of care toward future users and future engineers.
- [Boring interfaces, serious systems](https://elexpe.dev/notes/boring-interfaces-serious-systems) (2026-06-25): Predictable contracts matter more than clever abstractions in systems people depend on.
- [The things we choose not to automate](https://elexpe.dev/notes/the-things-we-choose-not-to-automate) (2026-06-09): Refusal, restraint, and taste may become important technical and cultural skills.
